Robus Die Cast Aluminium GU10 240V Fire Rated Directional Downlighter
Fire rated downlighters contain an intumescent disc that seals the fitting in to the ceiling in the event of a fire. It does this by expanding and changing shape to ten times its original size and welding the body of the fitting into the hole it occupies in the ceiling. At the same time an intumescent disc in the top of the fitting fuses the ventilation holes closed and completes the double safety protection. The fitting is then activated and will remain intact from fire ingress for the duration of 90 minutes to match the performance of the fire rated ceiling and protect the property to allow evacuation.
